Kurviger for Android Auto

Kurviger can also be used with Android Auto! This means you can navigate comfortably and safely with Kurviger even without a smartphone on the handlebar.

Please note: Android Auto does not support the full range of features offered by the Kurviger app. This is due to technical and design restrictions imposed by Android Auto. We make the best possible use of the available scope, but some features remain exclusive to the app.

To use Kurviger on Android Auto, connect your smartphone to your vehicle display and select the Kurviger app in the Android Auto user interface. Then you can start right away.

In principle, the operation on Android Auto is largely the same as in the Kurviger app. You will find the following functions there:

  • With Search๐Ÿ”Ž you can type a destination into the search bar or use voice search (Google Assistant) to enter it safely while driving โž” Press the Start now button to begin navigation to your selected destination
  • Navigation starts navigation for your loaded route or (if no route is loaded Follow Mode starts the follow mode)
  • You'll find the settings under the โš™๏ธ button
  • Crosshairs centers the map on your current location
  • + and โ€“ zoom in and out of the map

If you want to plan or change a route, simply switch back to the Kurviger app.

  1. Open the Kurviger app on your smartphone.
  2. Load the desired route (e.g., from the Kurviger Cloud).
  3. Open the app on your Android Auto display โ€“ this requires that your smartphone is connected to your Android Auto display/motorcycle.
  4. Tap on Navigation โ€“ and off you go!

Kurviger on Android Auto can also display a compass, as well as your current speed & speed limit during navigation. You can select these options in the app's settings.

Tip: Tapping the screen/ pressing a button during navigation brings up the โ menu and a button to skip the next via point.

In Follow Mode, the map continuously moves the map to follow your position.

  1. Simply delete the route from the map in the Kurviger app on your smartphone
  2. In Android Auto, tap Follow Mode

You can pause or end navigation at any time via the โ menu on the Android Auto display.

In the settingsโš™๏ธ, you can turn automatic recalculation, automatic recentering, and voice guidance on or off for navigation. You can also change the map orientation for navigation, switch between the ETA at your destination or via point on the navigation display and switch the map appearance between Light, Dark, and Automatic modes.

Just like in the Kurviger app, Kurviger on Android Auto also offers some helpful features for your trip. You can find them in the โ menu while navigating.

  1. Select the Find gas station function in the โ menu. Kurviger will then show you gas stations along your route.
  2. Use the arrows right and left to select to select a gas station.
  3. Confirm your selection with the blue Add location icon, and the gas station will be added to your route.

  1. Select the Skip waypoints function in the โ menu.
  2. Use the arrows right and left to select which of your waypoints you want to skip. The blue dashed line shows you which waypoint will be approached next.
  3. Confirm your selection with the blue Skip icon and the waypoints are skipped accordingly.

  1. Select the Avoid Roadblock function in the โ menu.
  2. Use the arrows right and left to enter the distance to the closure.
  3. Confirm your entry with the blue Avoid icon and you will be navigated around the roadblock.

During navigation, you can switch between the Kurviger app on your smartphone and the Android Auto display:

  • Simply tap on Display here on your smartphone or on the Android Auto display
