Offline Navigation

Plan your routes online as usual in the Kurviger app or on kurviger.com and, optionally save them in the Kurviger Cloud for later editing.

For offline navigation also save your routes locally on the device you want to use for navigation later. This way, they will be available to you later even without an internet connection (=connection to the cloud).

In the ⁝ menu select Export and Kurviger App (for navigation device) or .kurviger (for file format), then select Export route to export your routes and save them on your device. A .kurviger file contains your route exactly as you planned it.

In the app, tap the Kurviger menu in the top left corner and then select Offline maps. Here you will see the map divided into rectangular regions. Tap the regions you need for your routes during offline navigation to select them. Then tap on Apply to download them.

Tip: The button with the small route symbol at the bottom right automatically selects all regions of your currently loaded route on the map. This way, you can't accidentally forget any regions you need.

You can open locally saved routes directly in your device's file manager with the Kurviger app or directly in the app.

To do this, tap on the ⁝ menu and select Import → File → select .kurviger file → Import route , and your route will be loaded.

You do not need an internet connection to load the route, as the .kurviger file contains all the information needed to calculate the route – including the route settings from your initial planning (curvature and avoidance settings).

Start the navigation as usual at the bottom right of the app using the Navigation Arrow or directly on your Android Auto or CarPlay display. Kurviger will guide you reliably to your destination even offline.

Note: An internet connection is required to recalculate a route or load it from the cloud. If you stray from the route while riding, the direction arrow will help you find your way back to the planned route even offline.
