Route Transfer between Google Maps and Kurviger
Transfer from Google Maps to Kurviger
1. Use Google Maps in the app or browser to calculate a route that you want to export.
GMaps in the browser:
2. Open the 3-bar menu in the upper left corner.
3. Click on Share or embed map and then on COPY LINK.
In the GMaps app:
2. Open the 3-dot menu/Google account icon (if logged in) in the upper right corner of the app.
3. Click on Share directions and then on Copy to clipboard.
Attention: In addition to the link, an introductory text is also copied here - simply paste it into a note app and copy only the link.
4. Open https://mapstogpx.com (or another app/website that converts Google Maps URLs to GPX files) on your smartphone or PC browser.
5. Paste the copied link there and click on LET'S GO. Your route will then be downloaded as a GPX file.
6. Open the GPX file in the app or browser as usual via Import and Select file.
Transfer from Kurviger to Google Maps
To quickly get to its starting point, for example, a Kurviger route can also be transferred to Google Maps.
Important: Steps 1-5 work only in the browser, not in the Maps app.
1. Export a route from Kurviger as a GPX file (File format: GPX (*.gpx)).
2. Open Google Maps in your browser and click on the 3-bar menu in the upper left corner.
3. Click on Saved and go to the Maps tab.
4. Click on CREATE MAP at the bottom of the menu – a new tab will open.
5. Click on the blue Import button and select the Kurviger route exported as a GPX file – your route will then be displayed in Google Maps and saved as a so-called map.
You can now also find your saved route in the Maps app under the You tab ➔ Maps your saved “Maps”.
6. By clicking on the green starting point, you can navigate to the start of your route using the Directions to here function (in the app: Directions).
