Route Transfer to the TomTom Rider 550

  1. Select TomTom Rider 500/550 in the Kurviger export.
  2. Select Route or Track. When exporting a route, you should also select an option for Additional waypoints so that the route is transferred more accurately.

Note: With the TomTom Rider 550, tracks and routes cannot be imported together in one file. So first decide whether you want to transfer the track or the route.

What is the difference between a route and a track?

Further information:

To ensure that the route transfer goes as smoothly as possible, you should first check the settings in your TomTom Rider.

  1. Under Route planning, always select Fastest route so that TomTom does not change the imported route with its own “stronger” calculation.
  2. Make sure your navigation device is logged in to your TomTom account. Even if you were already logged in, your device may have logged out of your account in the meantime.
  3. Make sure you have an internet connection so that your device can connect to your TomTom account. To do this, go to MenuSettingsWi-Fi and connect your device to your Wi-Fi network.

  1. Log in to plan.tomtom.com with your user account.
  2. Click on My itemsRoutes tab
  3. Click on Import GPX file and select the GPX file (track) exported from Kurviger from the file browser. It will then appear in the list below.
  4. Click on the route File name as track in the list.
  5. Slide the toggle switch next to “Synchronize this track as a route with my devices” to activate it and transfer the track to your TomTom Rider 550.
  6. Your track will now appear on your TomTom in the list under MenuMy routes and can be accessed and started for navigation as usual.

Note: Synchronization may take up to one minute.

You can also transfer routes or tracks to the TomTom Rider 550 via USB cable. The procedure is the same as for the TomTom Rider 401.
