Basics about Kurviger

This section describes different basic topics about Kurviger.
If you are new to Kurviger and need some guidance, have a look at the Start Guide for the App and the Start Guide for the Website.

Kurviger is available on the Web, Android, and iOS – all with the same curvy route planning and flexible export options.

The basic features of Kurviger are all free! To access the full range of Kurviger's premium features on our website and app, there are two different subscriptions available:

offers advanced route planning features.
offers a full motorcycle navigation system and all the features of Kurviger Tourer.

Find out more about our subscriptions and the premium features here.

Route Planning: In this mode you can easily plan your perfect motorcycle route – whether on the website or in the app. Just enter your start and destination, choose how curvy you want the route to be (e.g., curvy or extra curvy), and Kurviger will calculate a route that fits your preferences. The route will then be displayed as a line on the map.

Follow Mode: This mode continuously moves the map to follow your position – available in the app. Kurviger moves the map so that your position and moving direction are always visible. You can use the follow mode to stay on track with a route or explore an area without a route, while still seeing upcoming curves and potential turn-offs.

Navigation: This mode guides you along your planned route – available in the version of the app. You will receive turn-by-turn directions, both visual and voice-guided. If you miss a turn, Kurviger will automatically recalculate to smoothly guide you back on track. In navigation mode, you can also view additional information, such as your current speed, elevation, estimated time of arrival, or distance to the next waypoint.

You can find more details about these and other features in our Start Guides for the app and website

The website needs an active internet connection to work.

The app also requires internet connection to plan, change, or export routes. That said, you can load planned route files in .kurviger format and overlays even when you are offline.

With you can use offline maps - this way navigation and the follow mode both work without internet connection. Just keep in mind: recalculating a route and loading a route from the cloud still needs a working internet connection. And if you're using online maps, those will obviously still require internet too.
