Tourer Features
Set Curvature for Sections
This feature allows you to choose different route options for each section of your route – for example, fastest
for the first part of the route and extra curvy
for the second. You can use this feature in the sidebar and on the map by clicking directly on the icons.
You can also set sections of the route as a direct line (beeline). This allows you to plan off-road routes or ignore road closures.
Set Avoidance Strength
In the routing options, you can specify which road types or properties should be avoided. These avoidances have a fixed strength – for example, the avoidance of unpaved roads
is very strong and therefore often leads to long detours just to avoid a short stretch of this type of road.
As a Kurviger Tourer, you can individually adjust the strength of the avoidance to optimize the route calculation according to your preferences. The scale ranges from 1
(slight avoidance) to 5
(very strong avoidance), with the default value marked with a dot.
Here are a few examples of how this can be relevant for you.
You may not like unpaved roads, but you prefer a short stretch on an unpaved road to a long detour. As a Kurviger Tourer, you could therefore reduce the avoidance of 5
to 1
or 2
.
You want to avoid all main roads and mainly drive on small side streets. By default, the main road avoidance is medium, because a high level of avoidance can lead to longer detours. However, if these detours do not bother you, but you enjoy the peace and quiet of the side streets, then you can set the avoidance to 5
.
Show Road Closures, Unpaved Roads, Speed Limit along your Route
We've all been there: a planned route looks great on the map, but when you get there you find that a section is closed or unpaved. If you had known that beforehand, you would have planned the route differently.
As a Kurviger Tourer, you can see this information during the planning stage and avoid unpleasant surprises.
Please note: The data is based on OSM and is not always perfect – some information may be missing.
Symbols are displayed on the route for this purpose and the corresponding sections of the route are also marked.:
These sections are also marked in the elevation diagram if you select Route information
:
There is also a note (icon) in the info panel:
When you click on the icon on the map on in the info-panel, you see many details from OSM. In addition, links to Google Maps (including Street View) and Mapillary are displayed so that you can check the information again:
In addition to the Route information
, you can also switch to Speed limit
, Elevation
or Route profile for segment
by selecting the information in the drop-down menu at the bottom right of the elevation diagram. To do this, the elevation diagram must be activated in the settings!:
Advanced Route Transfer with Waypoint Names
When you transfer routes to your navigation device, the limited route transfer does not export the waypoint names. However, with Kurviger Tourer you can also export the names of waypoints.
Show all 3 curvature route profiles at the same time
A good tour is varied: sometimes faster, sometimes slower, sometimes more curves, sometimes fewer curves. As a Kurviger Tourer, you can see all three route options at the same time by selecting All curvy route modes
. Your selected route, e.g. Curvy
, remains visible, while Fast and curvy
and Extra curvy
are displayed as alternatives in translucent blue.
In this example, your selected route is the curvy route. If you now want to include a section of the extra curvy route, simply set a waypoint on the extra curvy section (right-click on the map), and the route will include this part.
Roundtrips up to 600 km / 372 mi
For standard users, roundtrips are limited to 300 km / 186 mi. As a Kurviger Tourer you can plan tours up to 600 km / 372 mi.
Use More External Routes & POIs for your Personalised Route Planning
In Kurviger, you can display external routes and POIs, as well as your own routes created in Kurviger, as so-called Map overlays
as a dashed line/ symbol on the map. By default, this is limited to three overlays. As a Kurviger Tourer, you can display up to 15 overlays at the same time. You can learn more about the Map overlay manager here.
Show Entire Route Folders on the Map
With Kurviger Tourer you can display entire route folders as one of the 15 overlays on the map. For example all routes you tracked with Kurviger or all the daily stages of your next trip at a glance.
